PUBLIC NOTICE – YOU HAVE A VOICE IN AIR POLLUTION CONTROL IN ARIZONA
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) proposes to issue Air Quality Control Significant Permit Revision Number 54737 to Catalyst Paper (Snowflake), Inc. for a paper mill facility located 15 miles west of Snowflake on Arizona Spur Route 277, Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. The mailing address for the facility is PO Box 128, Snowflake, AZ 85937. The facility is subject to the requirements of the Federal Clean Air Act, Code of Federal Regulations, Arizona Revised Statute 49-426, and the Arizona Administrative Code, Title 18, Chapter 2, Article 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11. The facility emits the following air contaminants: nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM), hazardous air pollutants (HAP), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 10 microns (PM10), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 2.5 microns (PM2.5) and volatile organic compounds (VOC). The proposed revision incorporates established operating procedures associated with the sulfur dioxide (SO2) scrubber into the permit.
This public notice provides information to help you participate in the decision-making process. You have an opportunity to submit written comments on this permit revision, and request that ADEQ hold a public hearing on the permit revision. The written comment shall state the name and mailing address of this person, shall be signed by the person, their agent or attorney and shall clearly set forth reasons why the permit should or should not be issued. Grounds for comment are limited to whether the permit revision meets the criteria for issuance spelled out in the state air pollution control laws or rules.
